Blue Light Damage

The sustained introduction blue light can facilitate a rapid degeneration of the retina which can be monitored with both visual function and histology.  This rapid model of phototoxicity is applied in mice and is very useful for determining the effect of various therapeutic modalities to prevent retinal cell death or confer cellular replacement.
